Fields of Green, where did that come from? I'm glad you asked. It's a phrase from Psalm 23 that says God makes us rest in fields of green beside still waters and he refreshes our soul. I love that some versions of the bible say he "makes us rest." It's comical to me because rest sounds so appealing. You don't have to ask me twice! I'll be the first one laying in that field! Right? But at the same time I'm running two loads of laundry and running a business and to Costco and posting an Instagram in between. Would I even know what to do with myself if he sat me down in a green field and said, "slow the heck down." He makes us rest, because sometimes we don't know how. So he sits us down, and says, "give me your phone and your entrepreneurial thoughts and your desire for a clean house and REST," (rough translation).

This book is meant to nudge us on toward greener, quieter, and freer places where he's telling us to sit our busy and worn-out selves down. Amen? Amen.

I want Fields of Green to be a haven for you when you're running between the laundry folding and the grocery buying but need some centering, when you want to put your phone down but you don't know what to do with your hands, when you need quiet company after a long day, or a morning activity while your babe naps. This book is for you, I can't wait to ship it to your door so we can start finding pockets of rest together.
